Patient's rights
The ZPacP Act defines the rights that a patient has as a user or user of health services in all health care providers, procedures for exercising these rights when violated, and the related duties.
Patient's rights
The patient’s rights governed by this law are:

- the right of access to health care and the provision of preventive services,
- the right to equal access and treatment in healthcare,
- the right to freely choose a doctor and healthcare provider,
- the right to adequate, quality and safe health care,
- the right to respect the patient’s time,
- the right to be informed and to participate,
- the right to decide independently on treatment,
- the right to respect a pre-expressed will,
- the right to prevent and alleviate suffering,
- the right to a second opinion,
- the right to consult the medical records,
- the right to the protection of privacy and the protection of personal data,
- the right to have patient rights violated,
- the right to free assistance in the exercise of patients’ rights.
The patient's duties
In order to achieve quality and safe health care, the patient is obliged to:
- actively participate in the protection, promotion and restoration of one’s own health,
- at the time of illness, to comply with the expert advice and treatment plans received, with which he orally or in writing agreed,
- to provide the competent physician and other competent healthcare professionals or medical associates with all necessary and true information concerning his medical condition which is known to him and which is relevant for further medical care, in particular information on his present and past injuries and diseases and their treatment, diseases in relatives, any allergies and medicines he consumes,
- to inform health care professionals and medical associates of sudden changes in health status that occur during treatment,
- to be considerate and respectful of the privacy and other rights of other patients and healthcare professionals and healthcare providers,
- respect published schedules, house rules and prescribed organizational procedures of healthcare providers,
- inform the healthcare provider in a timely manner of any absence for examination or treatment.
